Our 4th Annual celebratory tribute to the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish “Ploughmen Poet”, Robert Burns (1759-1796). Many throughout the World are familiar his, A Red, Red Rose and Auld Lang Syne sung on New Year’s Eve. It’s a evening of poetry, dinning and music, all in tribute to the bard.
Seating begins at 6pm. Followed by a Glenfiddich/Oban/Balvenie/Laphroaig guided Whisky Tasting. Our regular cash bar and menu is available as well. We are featuring; Belhaven Scottish Ale and Tennent’s Lager on draft. Tennent’s NEW Aged With Whisky Oak and Williams Bros Heather Ale is also in bottles.
The ceremony begins with Piping In The Haggis by Sean Gearhart. After the Addressing The Haggis by Dan Flynn, guests are invited to dine on Traditional Scottish fare:
Potato & Leek Soup, vegetarian
Scotch Broth Soup
Kail Waldorf Salad
Haggis; ‘great chieftain o’the puddin’-race, lamb/oat sausage, traditional or vegetarian.
Neeps & Tatties, separately mashed rutabaga & potatoes.
Bread Pudding
The supper will be accompanied by live traditional music with Peter Andrew Brice, Billy McComiskey and Andy O’Brien. Seating at 5pm, Piping in the Haggis at 6:30pm.
$30, RSVP, seating is limited.
Romantic Period costume and Highland attire encouraged.
Every table will be provided with a complimentary copy of Robert Burns poems.
There will be an open mike during musical breaks for waxing poetic.
