Um, embassy. I mean, that’s a nice embassy for an awards show watching party.

Screen Actors Guild Award

Screen Actors Guild Award

I usually don’t think a lot about the SAG Awards until the DVD screening copies begin arriving in late December in envelopes labeled, “For Your Consideration”. Then in January the fun is all about watching movie and TV show marathons, marking the ballots and, finally, watching the awards show.

I’m thinking about the awards a bit early this year. Today I received an invitation through Screen Actors Guild to attend a viewing party at the Croatian Embassy in Washington, D.C. I’m thinking it might be fun for Jacob and me to pull out our tuxes, put on our really spiffy shoes, put silks in our pockets, and  head south for an evening.

The party includes an art auction that benefits Charlie’s Place, a  D.C. homeless service center.

Dress-up fun, cocktails, and a chance to support a good cause—nice combination! Thanks for the invitation.
